I went to Tai Chi last night at my dojo. There is just something about the dojo that always feels like home. We went over our traditional Tai Chi form and I was surprised by how much of it I remembered. My Sensei has been using the Tai Cheng program and talked to us a little bit about it. He seems to be getting a great deal from it. So, now I have more of a desire to save up and get the Tai Cheng program.
At any rate, now I have some extra martial forms to work on daily. Between doing my Tai Chi and T-Tapp I should start to improve physically-I hope!
We all have dragons to slay and sometimes your dragon is you...(My journey to lose weight, get my blackbelt, and have a baby)

Tai Cheng
Well, Tai Cheng finally announced the winners of the essay contest. Sadly, I didn't win. But, congrats to all of the winners. I hope it brings you all health and happiness.
Still hoping to save up the money for the program at some point....

Tai Cheng...
Dear Tai Cheng contest judges,
Please tell us soon about the winners of the contest. We are all very excited to hear who won. Even if it wasn't us (me). Very excited to hear the contestant's stories.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
ME (the 300lbs. Dragon)

Tai Cheng
Tai Cheng just posted on Facebook about the essay contest. Here is what they said:
"There were so many WONDERFUL Tai Cheng Essay entries, we've had to bring in extra judges for all the tie-breakers! Stay tuned! Winners will be announced in the coming weeks! :)"
I am grateful that they posted this. I have literally been counting down the days to find out about it. I don't expect to win but I really hope that I can. I would love to start doing Tai Cheng!! And, if I have to wait till we have the money it could be another 6 months. Good luck to everyone who entered the contest!!!!

Back to Slimpod
I decided to restart listening to my Slimpod (which I am also now logging on my twitter account). It seems to produce a very positive attitude in me. And, frankly, with the workout I am doing right now, starting a diet program would overwhelm me. So, it seemed like a natural fit for me to fall asleep listening to my Slimpod to reinforce healthy eating and smaller portions.
Since I started with Slimpods I have met two people who have been very successful on it. The first lady has only lost 5lbs in six months but she has lost 24 inches. Visually she looks like she lost 50lbs. Who cares what the scale says if you look half your size!
Another person I've met is Darin McCloud. If you click his name you can read his story and see him in a video (he has lost two more pants sizes since the video was made) and his blog is here. He has lost a tremendous amount of weight, is now in control of his diabetes, and has become a marathon runner. And, yesterday he reached out to me and gave me some amazing advice that has literally changed my life. For now I am going to keep the advice to myself because it feels precious. At some point I will share it with you all.
It feels good to be making some actual progress in this journey.
One more change I would like to make is starting to go back to Tai Chi nights at karate. I am looking around for an affordable meditation chair before I go back (it kills my bad leg to sit cross legged for 15 minutes during meditation).
BTW-if I remember correctly Tai Cheng was supposed to announce the winners of their essay contest today......wonder if we will ever hear who the winner are?
