I made a decision......by my 42nd birthday (April 25th) I will have all of the kata for my belt ranking (green belt with 2 stripes; 4th kyu) back and up to speed. This is my primary goal for the next 11 weeks/82 days.
With the help of my most amazing husband, we sat down and came up with a plan of action for each of the next 11 weeks. This week I will be working on reviewing the first row of the kata called Seiunchin. Along with this I will also be working on getting my cardio endurance improved.
Now, none of this guarantees that I will be back to the dojo full time by April 25th. Sensei once again alerted me to the fact that my weight is a huge issue. He is concerned that I will hurt myself during class unless the weight drops significantly. We will see what I can do about my weight.
I wish you the best of success!!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a nerd that turning 42 is kind of cool -- it has a tie-in to a book by Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. "42" is, apparently, the answer. The problem is... what's the question? ;)
LOL-This is weird Amanda. I am totally OK with turning 42 for the same reason. Douglas Adams totally rocked my world when I was 12 and I just never got over it. Which is one of the reasons why I want to go into 42 with a big goal accomplished :) We are way too alike:)
